Of course, you can ship and receive parcels to and from the United States with DPD.
As a result of American food regulations, the importing of alcoholic drinks is only authorised if the manufacturer has already registered with the ‘Food and Drug Administration’. The sender must draw up a ‘Prior Notice’: mandatory before each shipment of alcoholic drinks. This Prior Notice may be drawn up on the Food and Drug Administration website (an additional delay of 1 to 2 days and fees related to the customs clearance procedure should be expected).
- If the recipient is an individual: shipments of alcoholic drinks are only authorised if the recipient is aged 21 or over, and intended only for personal use (resale is prohibited). A written declaration will be requested from the recipient before the goods’ customs clearance.
- If the recipient is a company: they must have an importing and distribution licence (Basic Permit for Importer and/or Wholesaler) issued by the ‘Us Department of the Treasury – Alcohol & Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB)’. The recipient’s importing licence number, IRS number (Internal Revenue Service) and EIN (Employer Identification Number) will be required for customs clearance. The recipient’s phone number must be included on the invoice.
