You will need accurate instruments that provide the real weight and measurements of the goods. This process is very important to avoid additional charges due to difference in weight or measurements.
You will need the following tools to weigh and measure your parcel:
- A scale (domestic or industrial).
- A ruler, metre stick, measuring tape or flexometer.
Please follow these instructions to weigh and measure your parcel:
- First of all, refer to the above images, to identify the length, width and height of your package.
- If you are sending an item whose shape is tubular or cylindrical (such as a poster, a map, a carpet, etc.), width and weight will correspond to the diameter of the parcel.
- It is essential that you weigh and measure the parcel once it has been packed, closed and sealed.
- Enter the information in Kilos (Kg) and centimeters (cm).
- When purchasing your label, ensure that you always round up to the next whole figure for the weight or measurement. For example, if your parcel weighs 1.34kg and its height is 20.3cm, then enter: 1.4kg and 21cm.
Tips
- When weighing your parcel, remember you can use kitchen or bathroom scales, but keep in mind that domestic scales are not as accurate as industrial ones.
- If the parcel is too light to show an exact weight on bathroom scales, we advise you weigh yourself first with the parcel and then without and subtract the two weights to get the parcel weight.
